First edition of the CCC Fun Run

To celebrate the official inauguration of Crysler’s recreational trails, the Crysler Citizen Committee (CCC) is inviting walkers and runners to come and participate in the first edition of the CCC Fun Run – Plaisir de Courir, on the morning of May 6th.

The CCC, in partnership with the Crysler Community Centre, the Optimist Club of Crysler, the Centre de santé communautaire de l’Estrie (CSCE), Mayfair Craft Wines and the Municipality of North Stormont are organizing this event that consists of two competitive and timed races (6k and 10k), as well as a 3k family race that will not be timed.  The family race is also wheelchairs and strollers friendly.

Registration fees for the two competitive races (6k and 10k) are $25 per participant.  The cost of the family race (3k) is $20 and includes the cost of one adult, and up to 2 children under the age of 16.  All funds raised during this event will help with the development, beautification and maintenance of the trails.

All registered participants, including those for the family run, will receive a personalized race bib and a participation medal.

Before the departure for the Family Run, at 9am, participants and citizens of North Stormont are invited to the inauguration of the trails.  The Municipality of North Stormont, after years of negotiations, is now the proud owner of the land on which the trails are situated and we therefore wish to celebrate this acquisition!

Anyone interested in participating is invited to go to www.cryslercc.com and print their registration form.  The form can then be mailed in, or brought to, Mayfair Craft Wines, located at 6 Queen St., Crysler Ontario.  Registration fees can be paid by cash, cheque, or by debit in the store.  Registration will run until April 28th.

The CCC is a not for profit community organization that works on developing and maintaining the recreational trails located in Crysler.  In addition, their objectives are also to develop other projects that help promote health and the recreational potential of the community.  The committee is always in search of new volunteers.  If you wish to become involved with the CCC, please approach one of our committee members at the information table on race day.

We hope to see many of you at our activity! For more details, please go to www.cryslercc.com
